About

Welcome to "blackemFLOWERment", a route of healing that turned into a passion project.

In 2022, a friend of mine unexpectedly passed away. He had his whole life ahead of him, young, bright, successful, and just a great guy. I was both shocked and sadden to learn of his untimely passing.

Unable to cope with how I should feel or what I wanted to do, I only wished we could have connected more and I told him how much he was loved and appreciated. So I decided that I was going to pass out flowers in his honor with the words "It's been said that Black men only get flowers at their funerals. That's not going to be you. You are loved Black man."

I started with friends and people I knew, then I started to document how it made them and me feel. I immediately started buying more flowers and keeping them with me so whenever I saw a black man I was ready to give him his flowers. The more flowers and cards I passed out I learned just how many black men needed to know they are in fact loved and appreciated.

So I took it up a notch and made this space for people to easily do the same for the Black men or anyone in their lives.

To date, I have passed out 350+ flowers. For my friend and special soul Trenton Harvey.
